Meet the New RATEFPV W20 O4 Wide
A wider view. The same ultra-light freestyle spirit.
The RATEFPV W20 has always been built around one simple idea:
Make a small FPV drone that doesn't feel small.
Now, we're taking that idea one step further.
The W20 has officially been upgraded from the previous O4 version to the new W20 O4 Wide, bringing a wider-angle camera setup to our compact 2-inch freestyle platform.
The previous W20 O4 version was removed from the RATEFPV store on July 20, 2026, with the new O4 Wide version becoming the latest official W20 O4 configuration.
So, what changed—and why does it matter?
Let's take a closer look.
What's New with the W20 O4 Wide?

The biggest change is right where your FPV experience begins:
The View.
The new W20 O4 Wide is designed around a wider-angle O4 camera setup, giving pilots a more immersive perspective when flying freestyle, exploring tight spaces, or capturing cinematic footage.
Instead of simply making the drone bigger, we focused on improving how pilots see and experience the flight.
Why Does a Wider View Matter in FPV?
If you've flown FPV before, you already know:
Your camera is your window into the world.
A wider field of view can make it easier to understand your surroundings while flying and gives footage a more dynamic FPV perspective.
For a compact 2-inch drone like W20, this can be particularly useful.
Wider perspective
See more of the environment around the drone.
More immersive flying
A broader view helps create that unmistakable FPV feeling.
Better for freestyle footage
A wider perspective can make movement, proximity, and environmental context more noticeable in your footage.
More room to explore
From backyard flights to urban spaces, the W20 O4 Wide is designed to keep the experience compact without making the view feel restricted.
Small Drone. Serious FPV.

The W20 O4 Wide isn't just about the camera.
It's still the same philosophy that makes the W20 different from larger FPV drones:
Small enough to take anywhere.
Powerful enough to have fun.
Light enough to keep flying.
At around 70g, W20 remains an ultra-light 2-inch FPV platform designed for compact freestyle flying, tight spaces, and everyday practice.
That makes it a particularly interesting choice for pilots who don't want to carry a full-size 5-inch setup every time they go flying.
Built for More Than Indoor Flying
One common misconception about 2-inch FPV drones is that they're only useful indoors.
That's not what W20 is about.
The W20 was designed for:
- Backyard freestyle
- Tight outdoor spaces
- Urban exploration
- Low-altitude cruising
- Everyday FPV practice
- Compact cinematic shots
The combination of a lightweight 2-inch platform and modern HD video makes it easy to bring along whenever you want to fly.
Built Tough for Real FPV Flying
Small doesn't have to mean fragile.
The W20 uses a 2.5mm T700 carbon fiber frame, designed to provide the strength needed for everyday freestyle flying while keeping the overall platform lightweight.
Because crashes are simply part of learning FPV, the W20 is designed with another important principle in mind:
Keep repairs manageable.
Less weight.
Smaller components.
Lower repair costs.
More time in the air.
W20 O4 Wide vs. the Previous W20 O4
If you're already familiar with the previous W20 O4, the upgrade is straightforward.

The important point:

Who Is the W20 O4 Wide For?
🟡 New FPV Pilots
If you're moving beyond simulator practice and want a compact real-world FPV platform, W20 offers a manageable way to start building real flight skills.
🟡 Freestyle Pilots
For pilots who enjoy quick movements, tight gaps, and backyard freestyle, the small 2-inch format makes W20 easy to bring almost anywhere.
🟡 Cinematic FPV Pilots
The wider O4 view makes the new W20 O4 Wide especially interesting for pilots who care about immersive FPV footage.
🟡 Pilots Who Don't Want a Huge Setup
Sometimes you don't need a 5-inch quad.
You just want something you can grab, charge, and fly.
That's where W20 makes sense.
W20 O4 Wide: Small Size, Bigger View
The latest W20 O4 Wide isn't about making a 2-inch FPV drone compete with a 5-inch quad.
It's about making the 2-inch experience better.
A compact platform.
A lightweight frame.
Modern HD video.
A wider perspective.
And enough performance to keep you coming back for another battery.
That's what the W20 O4 Wide is built for.
